Cyclo-cross bikes are most favorable for races:

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

The bikes highly recommended for bike races are called cylo-cross bikes.  At its first look you will be able to differentiate it with the common bikes. From the frame geometry and wider clearances the cyclo-cross bikes are different from the road racing bikes. As these bikes are using mainly for the racing purposes so the materials to prepare the frame are selected with an aim to produce a lightweight, yet stiff and responsive. In earlier times the aluminum frames were popular for cyclo-cross bikes but now the frame made of aluminum with carbon fiber being popular at a professional level and steel and titanium being favorites amongst riders who always search for a smoother ride and a longer lasting frame.

The framing of cyclo-cross bikes

The compact geometry frames with sloping top tubes has made it less common than the road bikes. This advantage has brought to these bikes due to the need to carry the bicycle easily on the shoulder. The wheels of these bikes are simply fitted with knobby tires as common road racing bikes but the deeper rim is used to take advantages in thick mud. There is a difference between the road and the cyclo-cross bikes in handlebar. For a more upright position the cyclo-cross bikes tend to have slightly higher handlebars. Cyclocross bikes are also favorite to the competitors due to a second set of brake levers on the top, called top mount brake levers.

Tire is a very important section of cyclo-cross bikes. The choice of tire should be made very carefully. Tubular tires are most favorable for these cycles. Now a day some cyclo-cross bikes are available in consumer market for general use. These bikes are equipped with disc brakes also. For its versatility and a different look from a common road bikes the demand of cyclo-cross bikes has been increasing among the common people.

Leopoldo Lares Jose Zambrano: Using Scrimmages Differently

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

Soccer is considered to be the most popular game around the world, and is played by people of all ages. There are many football players and coaches, who have been very famous due to their contributions to the sport. Leopoldo Lares Jose Zambrano is one such individual, who is known to have a unique way of coaching players to ensure that they are at their best while playing the game. He himself is a huge football fan and pursues football coaching and consultancy as a profession.

Leopoldo Lares Jose Zambrano is famous for his unique use of scrimmages to train his players. Scrimmages are usually used by football coaches to train their players. They make them play amongst themselves in two teams in order to prepare for a game. Leopoldo, however, uses a different approach. He makes two different teams play together, and ensures that the teams, which are playing, are made up of different sets of players almost all the time. As a result, the players have to innovate while playing, since all of them are out of their comfort zones. He also keeps on changing the position of the players from time to time, and the teammates, thereby ensuring that the players get to know their strengths and weaknesses and develop as a player.

Thus, it can clearly be understood that Leopoldo Lares Jose Zambrano, is not only a good coach, but also has a different approach towards coaching that helps in ensuring the maximum benefit for his players.

Organising a golf tournament for charity

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

A few months ago I decided to organise a golf charity match for Children in Need. I just thought that it would be a good thing to do, and that a lot of people might enjoy it. I work in a big call centre, so I? Knew there would be plenty of takers. As people started to sign up, I realised that it was going to be a big success. The local club had agreed to contribute by allowing us to play for free, and I was taking ten pounds for people to play, which would go towards the charity.

I wanted to make things fun for people, so I found a company called www.afordawards.co.uk who could put together some great Crystal Golf Trophies for me. Because the company offered trophies with free engraving I could make sure that they were all for something different. I had one which was for the overall winner on the day, I had one for the longest drive which was measured on the long par 5 on the back nine, and I had a closest to the pin trophy which was held on a very short, but very tricky par three.

The whole day was a great success, and there was a lot of competition for the trophies! People were really going for it on the longest drive hole, and we had someone hit just over 300 yards! There was such a great feeling throughout the day, and by the time everyone had gone round in their foursomes, we had collected nearly a thousand pounds! It was great to be able to give so much to the charity, and it was great to make it such a fun event! The trophies added a bit of sparkle to the affair, and I’m sure we’ll all want to do it again next year!

Giving Back to Your Community

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

Have you ever sat and thought about how you might help out your community a little bit? Sure, a lot of people think about ways in which they can help but most of them do not wind up doing anything at all when it comes down to it. If you want to stand a apart from those people you have to actually do something and not just dream about it. There are a number of things you can do to give back to your community. Some of those things cost money and others will just cost a little bit of your time. Once of the best ways to give to your community is to focus on the elderly. They do not always have anyone to go and see about them. Many of them sit in assisted living facilities or retirement homes virtually rotting away and waiting to die. You can make a major difference in someone’s life by just being there. However, if it is time you do not have but you have a little bit of extra money, you might thinking about looking for cheap golf carts for sale and donating one.

Elderly people love scooting around on golf carts and this is a great way to help brighten their day. You can be the difference between them sitting and staring at the wall or getting out and finding a little bit of enjoyment. Golf carts are perfect for the elderly as they do not go extremely fast yet they still allow them a nice sense of mobility. A good way to find inexpensive used golf carts is to check out the internet and see what kind of prices you can find. Just try to imagine what it would be like to be stuck in a retirement facility with no transportation to even go up and down the beach. Chances are you can see how much of a difference a golf cart would make for someone like that.

Getting the boat back on the water

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

I’ve had my boat for about five years now, and it was not in the best condition in the world when I originally bought it! I’ve got a four berth twenty eight foot sailing boat with an eighty horsepower inboard motor, and for the last five years, although it has looked scruffy, it has kept me pottering around the local waterways without any difficulty. We even ventured about ten miles out into the Atlantic last year with no problems whatsoever, and I wanted to do something similar this year.
Unfortunately we’ve had a few problems with the engine over the last six months. Luckily I know a great online site which sells boat engine parts and once I had worked out what exactly was letting the engine down I ordered the part I needed. Once the part arrived I managed to get down to the boat yard where our boat was being stored, and after an afternoon up to my elbows in the bowels of our boat, I managed to get the part fitted.
As soon as we got the boat back out into the water it felt like it had a new lease of life! The boat was quicker than before, and the engine sounded so much smoother.
I got a few more localised trips under her belt, and once my confidence was up I decided that it was time to head out into the Atlantic again! I couldn’t wait to head out into the open seas, and now that the boat was running so well, I might even venture a bit further afield!

The best present I ever got my dad

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

I always like to get my dad nice birthday presents because he never seems to treat himself! Being a typical dad he views money as something to be saved rather than spent! I think we all realise that he is a bit uptight about money, and you can tell that he always feels a little bit bitter sweet even about the things that we have bought him, because in the back of his mind he is thinking how much it cost!
I think this year though that it is going to be a slightly different story. I have decided that, since it is his fiftieth birthday, I am going to push the boat out. Whilst I was having one of those meandering browses on the internet the other day, I came across this great site which had some really amazing prices on sports tickets. My dad is a massive sports fan. If he’s not watching football or cricket, he is talking about one of them!
I was searching through this site, when I saw some tickets to a Manchester United game, at home, two days after his birthday! I knew that a ticket for him and one for me would be the perfect present for him, and it wouldn’t be too bad for me either! We are both massive Manchester United fans, and although he hadn’t been to see them for about ten years, I knew that he would love this. We live a good two hundred miles away from the ground which is why we never got up to see them, but for a special trip like this I wouldn’t mind doing the driving.
I can’t tell him about it now of course, because he will tell me to get my money back! I know, though, that once I give him the tickets on his birthday, he will realise that it is too late to send the tickets back, and he will look forward to the game with glee!

The History of Mountain Bikes

Published by admin under Mountain Bikes

If you are interested in mountain biking then you may be wondering exactly how the sport has been developed. What is the history of mountain biking and how did it become so popular?

There are three main things to look at when you look into the history of mountain biking. The first is the people who invented it, the second is where the sport was developed and the third is the equipment and how the bikes were put together.

Why Mountain Biking has Evolved

Mountain bikes were developed in the 1960’s when the people of San Francisco became tired of the hectic lifestyles they were living. So a few people travelled to Marin County in order to escape the hectic life and that is when they really started to take notice of mountain biking. With the different mountain terrain, they soon spotted the potential for mountain bike racing.

Bike races of 3 miles long were held in Fairfax and word soon got around to other bikers. Everyone was looking to break new records and the track was one of the best as it had a 1600 foot downhill slope. As more and more people entered the competition, word spread around and soon it became extremely popular. However, the race ended up being cancelled because of the dangers which it presented.

Despite the race being cancelled, the popularity of mountain biking did not go away. New races were set up and it was in Mount Tamalpais, California where it really picked up again. The bikes were taken to the top of the mountain and then the bikers would race down it. However, as time went on they started riding the bike up the mountain as well as down it. This is when people started to become interested in other areas of mountain biking, not just downhill racing.

Of course mountain bikes did not always look how they do now. It was in California where they started to look like they do today. Changes were made to the bikes in order to make them safer and more comfortable to ride. The brakes in particular had to be updated. Cantilever brakes were used because they were lighter and stronger than the original brakes. The added strength helped to stop the bikes when they were going at fast speeds and also when they were going over difficult terrain.

Another change made to the bikes included extra gears. These helped riders to control the bike better and to help them when they were going over higher areas. Overall mountain bikes have evolved quite a lot since they were first designed. The popularity of mountain biking has increased over the years and it really isn’t difficult to see why.
